Dottie Bond is a Boulder, Colorado-based documentary photographer with a penchant for exploration, art, and adventure. In her work, Dottie explores narratives of individuals and communities through a lens of migration, national identity, and cultural integration.
Dottie received a BA in History and International Relations from Northwestern University and a MA in International Security and Conflict Resolution from the University of Denver. She frequently sources photographic inspiration from her educational background as well as her early career in which she spent a number of years working in food and agriculture policy in Washington, D.C.
Dottie has been published in F-Stop Magazine and The Jakarta Post and is a current participant in VII Photo Agency’s 2019/20 Masterclass.
In spring 2020, Dottie’s photo essay on immigration and cultural integration in Colorado will be exhibited at FUGA in Barcelona, Spain.
In summer 2020, Dottie’s work on the pilgrims of Kumbh Mela will be exhibited in the annual Eyes on Main Street photography festival in Wilson, North Carolina.
In addition to her documentary photography, Dottie is a frequent collaborator with outdoor brands and nonprofit organizations. Dottie’s commercial photography and written essays have been featured in the marketing materials, website blogs, and journal entries of numerous outdoor and travel companies.
